It’s Gonna Be May!
I hope everyone is still keeping sane and not getting so bored during this whole quarantine. I know this is something that I’m going to tell my kids (when I have some). What are some creative things that everyone is doing? I’d love to know! If anyone has me on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) you’d know that this past week, Kane and I decided to have a themed work day everyday. Considering we work from home, we decided to spruce up the work days. Here’s what we did!
Monday: Parents Day
Tuesday: TV Character Day (Jessica Day and Nick Miller from New Girl)
Wednesday: Work Attire
Thursday: Decade Day (decided to go with 90’s)
Friday: Pajama Day (what a great day to stay in our pj’s!)
Now, let’s dive in to what I’ve been up to this month!
Watching: Ozark Season 1-3.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this series if you haven’t seen it yet. Usually during TV shows, it’s hard for me to concentrate and I need to be doing something else. Nope, not this series. I’m fully engaged the entire time. SO. DAMN. GOOD!
Reading: The book of Proverbs
I decided to do a 31 day challenge with the book of Proverbs. I started on April 20th. I highly recommend those who want to learn more about wisdom and applying it to your life. I read a chapter everyday, reflect and apply it to my life. Awesome lessons to learn and advice to receive.
Listening: Vibeyy Beats from a Spotify playlist
Looking for something chill, up beat or even concentration beats…this playlist is for you!
Obsessing: Homemade “ice cream sandwiches”
My mom used to make these a lot when I was younger and I decided to do the same thing. All it is:
- Container of whipped cream (I use sugar free)
- Instant pudding (I use sugar free chocolate)
- Chocolate chips
- Graham crackers
I make the instant pudding with milk, mix it in with the whipped cream and pour the chocolate chips in. Break up the graham crackers into ‘sandwiches’ and put the mixture in between the crackers. Place in the freezer for a couple of hours before you eat them. Keep them frozen so you can just grab them straight out of the freezer to eat.
You’re welcome!
Trying: Reflecting every day and appreciating everything around me and what I have in my life.
During this time, I’ve really realized that life is precious, don’t take anything for granted, be grateful for what you have and reach out to people. Our pastor told us this past Sunday to wake up everyday this week, before you get out of bed, scroll through Facebook or whatever you do when you wake up, and thank God for five things that you have. I’ve been doing that every morning and it does make me appreciate what I have in my life. Even if it’s the blankets that kept me warm, morning cuddles with Eli, waking up next to Kane, the birds chirping outside, the sunrise, having a roof over my head, clothes on my body…my list could go on and on. I’m SUPER grateful for being able to work from home. I enjoy my job a lot and I’m so thankful that I’m able to keep doing what I’m doing and paying the bills, the wedding and anything else that I want or need to pay for.
It’s a tough time. Not just for a couple of us but for all of us, no matter what our situations are. We just need to keep spreading love, sending positive vibes and keep faith that this will pass.
Thanks for reading! What were you watching, reading, listening to, obsessing over and trying out during April?
Stay safe, everyone!
XO!
